30 Bays in 30 Days First Public Swim
July 1, 10:30 am–12:00 pm
In 2016, we launched a fundraising initiative called 30 Bays in 30 Days – and what a great success it was! We are delighted to confirm that the event will be held again this year and we hope that as many people as possible will register to swim a minimum of 30 strokes in 30 bays. It all takes place between 1 and 30 July. So, pick your favourite 30 Bays or if you want an extra challenge swim them all! The choice is yours. Don’t worry if you can’t fit it all in during July – please carry on swimming in August so you can tick those bays off your list.
There will be organised swims to open and close the month long event and everyone who registers will be invited along to participate. But between those swims, you can decide where and when you swim to complete the challenge. We’ll also be promoting some impromptu swims during the month for people who’d like to get together during the week, rather than swimming alone. Keep an eye on our social media pages for more information.
If you’re going to be off the Island or life is just too busy, then you can swim in more than one bay on the days that you have more time; it can be as flexible as you need it to be. If you aren’t a strong swimmer, you’ll be relieved to hear that you only have to swim a minimum of 30 strokes in each bay, not the whole thing so please sign up.
Maybe make an afternoon of walking from bay to bay to tick a few off or plan a couple of coastal swims with friends or family, followed by a picnic or BBQ? Or why don;t you think about taking a rib trip to one of the off Island reefs? It’s all about creating great memories and enjoying the summer fun.
The opening swim takes place at 10.30 on Sunday 1 July, at St Brelade’s Bay. As well as being able to meet up with fellow swimmers, you will be handed your fab swimming hat, kindly proved by our sponsor Network Insurance & Financial Planning.
Safety cover will be provided
