Bee n’ Bee: Build a Hotel for Solitary Bees
4 March 2017, 10:30 am–1:00 pm£20 - £25.00
Wild bees provide an indispensable service in pollinating crops and wild flowers. These fascinating creatures also bring life and colour to our surroundings.
Bees require two key resources, food in the form of pollen and nectar, and nesting sites. Providing additional nesting sites by constructing bee hotels therefore provides a simple yet effective method to help conserve wild bees.
During this workshop you will put together a bee hotel to take home and put up in your garden. In addition to learning all the fundamentals of bee hotel construction you will also learn about the ecology of wild bees, as well as all the things that you can do to help them thrive.
Meeting Point : The Elms, La Chève Rue, St Mary
Time: 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
Duration: approx. 2.5 hours
Price: £20 per hotel for members, £25.00 per hotel for non-members
