National Stitch Day at 16 New Street
5 August 2017, 10:00 am–4:00 pm
The Georgian House is normally closed to the public at the weekend, but on Saturday 5 August the Trust will be throwing open its doors to showcase a one-off exhibition of textiles and embroidery, stitched by members of the Embroiderer’s Guild. The exhibition will be displayed as a trail throughout the house, allowing visitors an opportunity to view this magnificent Georgian town house, which has been restored by the National Trust for Jersey, at the same time.
Activities on the day include:
- An exhibition of textiles and embroidery by the Embroiderers’ Guild (Jersey)
- An embroidery workshop, running from 11am – 1pm. Price £12 for two hours’ tuition; all materials provided; booking essential – please see separate event information.
- Stitching demonstrations throughout the day
- Stitching activities for children (suitable for all ages)
