Black Butter Making at The Elms

Volunteers are invited to The Elms to participate in the community apple peeling from 10.00am until late! The peeled and cored apples will be added to a large ‘bachin’ (copper basin) and cooked over a wood fire which will be lit in the early hours of Friday morning. The apple mixture will be stirred continuously all night until Saturday lunch-time. Volunteers are invited to peel, stir the mixture and partake in the community supper which will take places that evening.…
