Black Butter Festival

Whether you want to get stuck in and help us make the Black Butter or simple come along to our fun filled market day on the Saturday - we've got something for everyone.

All are invited to participate in this 3 day annual festivity at The Elms, the headquarters of the National Trust for Jersey. Everyone is welcome and invited to peel and chop apples, watch the mixture being stirred all through the night, get involved in jarring up and enjoy the market day on Saturday when you'll get a chance to purchase our Black Butter hot off the bachin!

Festival itinerary - all are welcome!

Thursday 8th October - apple peeling from 2-5pm (refreshments and Jersey Wonders included for your help!) Parking at the Elms top field.

Friday 9th October - the bachîn is lit at 5am and then apple peeling continues from 10am - 10pm (refreshments and Jersey Wonders included!) we stir through the night. Parking at the Elms top field.

Saturday 10th October - 10am - 4pm market day! Spend the day soaking up the atmosphere with live music, delicious local food, artisan stalls and plenty of autumnal fun. Enjoy a Jersey cider, tuck into La Robaline sausages or stone-baked pizza, and treat yourself to homemade cakes – all while browsing a wonderful selection of locally made products. There’s plenty for younger visitors too, with pumpkin carving, face painting and garden games on the front lawn – with a prize every time!   Parking on Saturday is at Granite Products with a shuttle bus to and from the Elms all day from 10am- 4pm
