#LoveNature: Oysters, Shipyards & Breakwaters - The Making of Gorey
Friday 29th May 2026, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Join Blue Badge Guide Roger Noel for a two‑hour circular walk uncovering the rich history of Gorey, one of Jersey’s most picturesque coastal villages. This engaging walk explores Gorey’s origins as a fishing and farming community, its 19th‑century oyster industry, shipbuilding heritage, and the strategic role of Mont Orgueil Castle, alongside the ambitious Victorian story of St Catherine’s Breakwater.
The route includes mixed terrain with gentle inclines, so comfortable footwear and suitable clothing are recommended.
Free for members, £10 for non-members
