Russian & raiders: high and low wartime stories
Sunday 30th August 2026, 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Bouley Bay on Jersey’s spectacular north coast holds a long and fascinating military and maritime history, while its smaller neighbour Petit Port witnessed one of the Occupation’s most dramatic episodes.
This energetic but rewarding walk, led by historian Ian Ronayne, explores both locations and uncovers stories including a humiliating French defeat, a costly American aviation disaster and an uneasy German alliance.
It also follows the stealthy footsteps of British commandos, among them one tragic young man whose mission left a lasting mark on the Island’s wartime story.
