16 New Street - The Georgian House & Gift Shop

Rescued from ruin by the National Trust for Jersey, 16 New Street has been decorated and furnished just as it might have been during the period 1800 - 1815 when the building was occupied by the Journeaux family.

The rooms feature historic 18th and 19th century furniture, pictures and objects that reveal the lifestyle of St. Helier's fashionable residents.

Downstairs in the Georgian kitchen, visitors can enjoy a presentation about Georgian dining with the resident Cook/ Housekeeper, with food to taste.

There is a beautiful National Trust gift shop downstairs too, which you can browse without having to enter the museum itself.

Open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 1pm

While you can access the ground floor with limited mobility, the rest of the Georgian House is up two flights of stairs.
