The Wetland Centre
Perfectly situated overlooking St. Ouen’s Pond, the National Trust for Jersey Wetland Centre gives you and your family an opportunity to not only view the interesting and diverse bird life found at La Mare au Seigneur, but also to learn about the reserve’s wildlife and rich history, safeguarded by the National Trust for Jersey since 1975.

Family-friendly fun in the heart of St. Ouen
The Wetland Centre is open all year round, 7am-7pm, and free to visit.
Sensitively built into the rugged landscape of St. Ouen, the Wetland Centre is accessed by a tunnel which takes visitors through a dune mound and opens out to give panoramic views of the reed bed and pond.
This offers a unique perspective for budding birdwatchers without disturbing the waders, waterfowl and magnificent Marsh Harriers from doing what they do.
Families can enjoy learning about the wildlife on and around the pond, with an interactive digital camera screen that you can move around yourself, as well as a number of interesting information boards.
There are plenty of benches and viewing ports for everyone to come down and enjoy.
Please do pop down, but please by quiet while you enjoy it so as not to disturb any birdwatchers using the facility.
